Scribe vs Infragrid: choosing for your next task
Compare documentation, AI context, and task execution. A practical evaluation guide for teams considering Scribe and Infragrid.

Evaluate Scribe when your main need is capturing and sharing how work gets done, including context for AI tools. Evaluate Infragrid when you want to record a task, refine its runbook, and have an agent attempt the work across approved websites and Mac apps. Test the actual outcome you need in either case.
I am building Infragrid, so this is our perspective on evaluating the two products. It is based on the official product information linked below, reviewed September 8, 2026. It is not a hands-on comparative benchmark, and it does not establish that one product is faster or more reliable.
Start with the deliverable you need
A request to “automate our SOPs” can mean several things. A new teammate might need clear instructions. An AI assistant might need context about a process. An operations team might need the next request processed in the destination system. Write down which deliverable matters before comparing feature lists.
For a vendor-onboarding task, those deliverables could be a guide explaining the checks, structured context supplied to an AI tool, or a completed vendor summary based on a new request. All are useful. They require different evidence: a readable guide does not by itself demonstrate that the next vendor was processed correctly.
What does Scribe currently offer?
Scribe's current site presents Capture for documentation and Optimize for analyzing and improving work. It also describes supplying process context to AI tools through integrations, MCP, and an API. Its positioning now includes teams and AI agents, so a comparison that treats Scribe solely as a screenshot tool would be incomplete.
If your immediate goal is documenting a process or distributing process knowledge, evaluate how well its output fits your team's needs. Ask a colleague to follow the guide on a different example and record where they need help. For an AI integration, inspect what context the receiving tool gets and which system actually performs the actions.
Where does Infragrid fit?
Infragrid brings task recording, editable runbooks, and computer-use agents into a Mac workspace. The intent is to demonstrate the work, review the instructions, and run a new instance with oversight. Its usefulness depends on the particular apps, access, inputs, and checks involved in that instance.
For the vendor example, record how you read the request and prepare the summary. Review the runbook for rules about missing details, duplicate vendors, and when to ask for help. Then supply another request and inspect the resulting summary against its source. That test gives you evidence about your process rather than relying on a general automation claim.
If your team needs Windows deployment, an approved export format, or a particular enterprise control, verify those requirements directly before choosing a product. Infragrid's public download is for macOS. A trial should include the environment your team actually uses.
Use one task to evaluate both options
Choose a task you already understand, such as preparing a vendor-request summary. Use the same source material and success criteria. Evaluate each product for the output it claims to provide, and record any additional tool required to reach your end goal.
For a guide, check whether another person can follow it without asking you to fill in missing decisions. For AI context, inspect whether the consumer receives the relevant steps and exceptions. For execution, inspect the destination and compare its contents with the new request. Avoid combining these three results into an unexplained “automation score.”
- Capture: how much cleanup does the initial demonstration require?
- Reuse: does a second example use its own values rather than the first example's data?
- Exceptions: what happens when a required field is absent or two records match?
- Review: can the operator understand and correct the result?
- Maintenance: what must change when the source application changes?
- Total effort: how much time goes into setup, handoff, review, and corrections?
Choose from the result, then check commercial fit
If the team's bottleneck is explaining a process, prioritize a clear and maintainable guide. If a separate AI system needs your process knowledge, evaluate the context integration. If the bottleneck is repeatedly doing the task, include a destination-level execution test. You may need more than one component to reach the final outcome.
Check current plan limits, operating-system support, sharing, data handling, and the cost of the complete setup directly with each vendor. This comparison does not assume that a free tier includes every feature or that a competitor's past pricing still applies.
You can try Infragrid for free with one bounded task and bring the result to our community. Show what the task required, what happened, and where you had to intervene. That is useful feedback for us and a concrete basis for deciding whether to expand your use.
